What Is The Best Operating System For My Mobile Phone?

Today, more and more folks are checking their Facebook, E- mail and all sorts of other information on the go. With the busy schedule that most folks have, many of us do not have the time to spend an hour or more sitting at our home computers to read all our information. With the rapid increase in Smart Phone sales, it appears that more and more folks are using their phones as part of their office management.

Unlike the PC computer, Smart Phones rely on apps rather then installed programs as the PC computer does. Essentially, apps are programs but they must be installed from the App store that applies to your operating system. There are two major operating systems that are used by mobile devices; The Apple IOS and the Google Android. There are others out there such as Blackberry and the Windows phone but they are not as commonly used.

If you have had a Smart Phone for some time, you probably already have a favorite that you like and in all likelihood, you will keep using it if you are happy with the way it performs. Personally, I like the Apple IOS operating system because it has better compatibility with some of the things I like to do best on the phone. Often times you will see new apps come out first for the iPhone before it is available in Android.

As far as the app store goes for both IOS and Android, they are both chock full of all kinds of apps some of which are free and some that will require a small fee to purchase. The free and paid app ratio is about equal between the iPhone and Android.

All Smart Phones at some point have to be updated. There is a slight advantage here when it comes to the Android operating system. An Android phone can be updated directly through the phone. The Apple iPhone must be connected to I Tunes through a computer in order to get the updates to the phone. It is not a difficult process but sometimes iTunes has issues on some computers and that will cause problems with the update process.

Another important factor when choosing a phone is security. Lately, Android has been having its share of security issues. The most recent is a “Master Key” security flaw that can cause a malicious app to literally take over your device and pass your sensitive information on to the hackers. In addition, another malicious bug called “Bad News” has been found on the Google Play store.

What this code does is send out a huge number of text messages from your phone that can rack up charges without your knowledge. It is very difficult to even know if this malicious code is on your device! It is estimated to be on anywhere from one to five million devices so far. In addition, this code can install other malicious apps on your system without your knowledge. With this in mind, the Apple IOS beats out Android in the security department.

For me, I use the Apple IOS and when I am ready for a new phone, I will be sticking with the same. I have had great performance with my iPhone and I see no reason to change to Android.
