What is screen resolution you say? It refers to the amount of pixels (little colored dots) you have on your screen. The most popular resolution nowadays is 1024×768. That suits a 17 inch monitor perfectly. However some people have a lower screen resolution like 800×600 which makes your icons and web pages look overly large.
