Keeping Your Electronic Devices Charged While On the Go Is A Must!

It happens to all of us at some point in time. You are trying to capture that perfect video with your phone when suddenly you realize that your battery is just about ready to charging-technologygo down the toilet. Of course, the battery dies right in the middle of the video and your moment is totally lost. You might even be making or in the middle of an important phone call when suddenly all you hear is the sound of silence.

If you happen to be in an area where there is a charging station, such at a park like Sea World, you can sit and relax while you get a few bars of power back in your battery. The thing is, you are not going to want to sit in the same place for 30 minutes while your phone charges. Another option would be to go to your car and use your car charger. You did bring it with you didn’t you? If you forgot it, you will be most likely out of juice till you get home. Hopefully the car does not break down on the way home.

This is a scenario that we see day in and day out with our modern cell phones. They use more and more battery juice as they get more sophisticated and need to perform more tasks. The solution is a simple one; carry a spare battery. Now I am not talking about a battery that fits in your phone but rather one that is small, easy to carry in your pocket and connects directly to your phone with the supplied USB cable. These devices are lifesavers and the ones I have tested can charge your phone a couple of times from a single full charge.

My personal favorite is made by SoundLogic and it is available at Bed Bath and Beyond. It is most likely available in other locations as well but that is where I purchased mine. At first, I was not real confident that the product was going to do its job but I wanted to give it a try anyway. I bought the device home and took it out of the package. Since I am not a patient person I could not wait to fully charge the device in order to test it. Since my phone battery was low I decided to put it to the test. The device uses a standard USB connection to do the charging so you can use the cable that was supplied with your phone.

I plugged the phone into the device and the charging indicator came on just as if it was on AC power. I left the phone charge for about 10 minutes since that was as long as I could wait since the suspense was killing me. Low and behold, my phone went from almost totally dead to a little more than half a charge. I was a happy camper since my days of keeping my phone plugged in at an AC outlet were over.

Since the initial test and after the device had a full charge, I am able to get about 2.5 charges from the external battery on one charge. That is enough to get almost anybody through a busy day of talking, texting and taking pictures or video.

I know there are lots of brands of these devices but the small size and cylinder like shape made this one really appealing. The model is called the Sound Logic XT and it comes highly recommended by me. It only costs around 29 bucks or so but it is an excellent investment for the person on the go.
